How is the taste of water?

Does the device have any operational noise while purifying water?

As said already, this is a RO (Reverse Osmosis) water purifier. You do no not have to worry about operational noise as it negligible.

Does the water purifier need to be powered on 24/7?

You can turn off the water purifier after the storage tank is full (that is if you want to.. but there is no necessity that you need to power it off after tank is full. The device takes negligible to zero power when not purifying water and is in standby mode).
